FreeRADIUS Configuration Documentation
Setting up the server for the first time is a process that can be time consuming and frustrating. The setup page defines a few simple rules, and some working practices that ensures you reach your final configuration with a minimum of frustration.
Once we've covered the basic practices outlined above, Step 1 is getting PAP authentication to work.
The most common user store is Active Directory. Integrating RADIUS with AD is more difficult than just configuring LDAP or SQL, and the following guide covers the basics.
A common problem with the server configuration is the setting of
the Auth-Type
attribute. There are many sites on the net
with many recommendations, but not all of them are correct. Although
the FreeRADIUS documentation contains the latest information, we've
summarized some additional information in the Auth-Type page.
